Rocking L Outfitters offers the best Goose hunting in Texas. Our fields are scouted everyday, so we can put all of our customers in the very best location for their hunt. The Rocking L guides are some of the best in the business. We make our living in the goose fields of Texas. Born and raised to goose hunt. On a morning hunt your guide will greet you at one of our meeting spots or at the lodge for breakfast. At this time the guide will discuss his plans for the hunt with your party. You will follow the guide to your hunt location, and then assist him with putting the decoys out (See below for Executive hunt option). We use a variety of decoys, which include, rags, Texas windsocks, shells, and kites. When Goose hunting you will be shooting from a laying position. We will dig shallow pits to lay in or use layout blinds whenever possible. At the conclusion of the hunt, which is before noon, you will assist in picking up all decoys and trash. The types of fields hunted are, fallow, plowed, corn, soybeans, rice, winter wheat, and rye grass. The field conditions can vary from extremely dry to extremely wet (don’t worry all of are guides have ATV’s to pack all the decoys into the field and anybody that might need assistance). You will be hunting in the Katy, Eagle Lake, Garwood, and Port Lavaca areas, where there is an abundance of Snows, Blues, Ross, Specklebelly, and Canada geese. There are plenty of Ducks and Sandhill Cranes as well.
